Egypt’s Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Ali el Moselhi during the food security and agriculture event in the framework of UN Climate Change Conference (COP27) will be in Sharm El Sheikh stated that country’s strategic stock of all food commodities is sufficient for at least 6 months pursuant to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directives.

Egypt produces almost 50% of its wheat, Minister claimed. Also, Egypt's self-sufficiency in sugar amounts to 90%, additionally the country achieved complete self-sufficiency in rice, but currently no country achieved self-sufficiency in all commodities. In this regard, over the past years the country succeeded prominent improvements avoiding effect of climate change.
