The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has implemented food safety plans aimed to improve food quality in the country.  Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of ADAFSA, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, issued a directive that focuses on improving biosecurity requirements such as pest control and agricultural disease mitigation. This strategy will increase farm output and strengthen sustainable agriculture.

Plans that implement precautionary measures will contribute to protect population, and biodiversity from diverse disease outbreaks.  These new measures align with Aby Dhabi’s legislative base in agricultural sphere. The Government is planning to apply best global practices in agricultural disease mitigation, for example it has already launched mobile services for biodiversity health protection to assist farmers. The app equipped with animal medicines, first aid, and vaccines necessary to prevent disease outbreak.

Additionally, the government of Aby Dhabi through the Abu Dhabi Agricultural Genome Programme launched a project to develop plant varieties and animal breads that will adapt efficiently to the UAE's environmental conditions. The project comprises of a genetic resource database and a physical material store to develop seed banks.
