The UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Her Excellency Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri at sixth meeting of GCC ministerial committee for food safety in Riyadh noted about country’s strong commitment to support food safety. She also emphasized the utmost importance of enhancing legislative and regulatory framework related to food safety to enable necessary standards of supply chain to maintain GCC region as a global food trade hub.
 
This meeting was a comprehensive platform providing a discussion of vital issues of public health and resilience of multilevel food supply chains.
Another highlights of the meeting was updating GCC Food importing regulations, Unified Food law, Issuing Health Certificates for Food Products and implementation of the GCC Supreme Council’s decision on non-tariff barriers.
