On 24-25 June 2022, Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) participated in the International Scientific And Practical Conference on "Adaptation of Crop Production to the Conditions of Global Climate Change: Problems and Solutions" arranged by a Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture and Crop Production.
The conference brought together a number of international experts to address key issues of climate change impact of on crop production and explore approaches to maintain and increase crop productivity, in particular important role of genetic resources, biotechnologies, organic crop production and pasture management was discussed.
The Conference was moderated by Vice President of National Academy of Science Republic of Kazakhstan and the Rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University H.E. Tlektes Yespolov.
IOFS was represented by its Director of Programs and project office, Dr. Ismail AbdelHamid who presented IOFS strategic programs and opportunities to establish cooperation with scientific institutions for further implemention of IOFS programs and joint activities, namely in the areas of water management in agriculture, development of gene banks, OIC strategic commodities.
During the Conference participants had an on-site visit to explore crop varieties and technologies used at the fields of the Kazakh Scientific Research Institute of Agriculture and Crop Production.
