IOFS PARTICIPATED IN THE «AL-FARABI –IQBAL» INTERNATIONAL FORUM

On May 27, Almaty hosts international forum «Al-Farabi - Iqbal», jointly organized by the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the OIC (COMSTECH) and the International Turkish Academy.

Opening ceremony of the Forum has witnessed keynote speeches delivered by the President of the International Turkic Academy Mr.Darkhan Kydyrali, the Chief Coordinator of the Standing Committee of the OIC on Science and Technology (COMSTECH) Mr. Iqbal Chaudhary, the Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Mr. Zhanseit Tuymebayev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Kazakhstan Mr.Kuanysh Yergaliev, the Secretary General of TURKSOY Sultan Raev, the Permanent Secretary of the Senate of Pakistan for Human Rights - Commission Chairman Walid Iqbal, Deputy Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Buildings in Asia (CICA) Chi Fan.

The forum attracted participators from Turkic and OIC member countries that were represented by significant contributors, scholars and researchers bring light to the latest developments and updates related to the Muslim culture and philosophy in Al-Farabi and Muhammad Iqbal heritage.
IOFS was represented by its Head of the Office of Programs and Projects, Dr. Ismail Abdel Hamid who delivered an address related to the role of emerging agricultural technologies on food security in the special section titled “Importance of Emerging Technologies for OIC Countries: COMSTECH Programs for the promotion of Science and Technology”. Dr. Ismail Abdel Hamid provided an overview of the key strategic vision of IOFS and emphasized importance of developing safeguard sustainable food security in the OIC Member States through socio-economic development and systemic promotion of targeted programs related to agriculture, science and technology, humanitarian aid, trade, and food export.
