Commerce minister of the country Alaa al-Jubouri stated about allocation of US$100 million fund for acquisition of three million tons of the grain for replenishment of country’s strategic food reserves and targeted to prevent price increases related to Russia and Ukraine conflict.

Also Iraqi government on purpose to provide food security, intends to support a local food subsidies program through increasing the price for procuring wheat from local farmers. All these measures are expected to avert potential food crisis in the country.
