On 6 May 2022, the IOFS representatives Mr. Sofian Ben Mouaddeb, Senior Country Manager, and Ms. Makpal Bulatova, Programme Manager paid a visit to the office of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) in Kazakhstan.
The IOFS team briefly shared about the programmes and running activities of the Secretariat, focusing on the specific potential projects to be carried out with the Turkey side. Mr. Sofian Ben Mouaddeb furthermore mentioned the IOFS Year of Africa 2022 and the respective initiatives that would be implemented throughout the year.
Mr. Hüseyin Hükmet Özdenoğlu, TİKA’s Coordinator in Nur-Sultan welcomed the IOFS Team and expressed his willingness to establish cooperation with IOFS and implement tangible projects. The Parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding and Action Plan in the near future.
As to inform, the TİKA carries out the task of being a cooperating mechanism for the state institutions and organizations, universities, non-profit organizations, and the private sector. TIKA implements projects in the field of improving human resources, supporting development, and the provision of technical assistance. Today, the TIKA is engaged in various development cooperation activities in 150 countries through its 62 Programme Coordination Offices located in 60 countries across 5 continents.
