On the sidelines of the 18th Dubai International Humanitarian Aid and Development Conference and Exhibition – DIHAD that is closing today, 16 March 2022, His Excellency Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet, Director General the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), signed with H.E. Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani, Chairman of DIHAD Sustainable Humanitarian Foundation, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for bilateral cooperation. Among the salient agreed points of the aforesaid MoU, the IOFS and its Director General are to have a prominent role at the 19th DIHAD Event, scheduled to be held on 13-15 March 2023.
The IOFS Director General, accompanied by HE Mr. Rauan Zhumabek, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Dubai, also attended the some of the sessions and the closing ceremony of the aforementioned event, and had the chance to visit some relevant exhibitors present in Dubai, including Zayed Charitable & Humanitarian Foundation with whom he followed up earlier consultations on potential support of the latter on IOFS Afghanistan Food Security Programme (AFSP), as well as with a private company BONDESHAMS that produces cleaning water devices powered by solar energy and, in principle, the IOFS is to acquire some of such devices to be installed in most water scarce villages in Afghanistan.

In fact and with a view to ensuring an appropriate preparation of the AFSP successful implementation, the Director General met the H.E. President of Islamic Committee of the International Crescent (ICIC), Ambassador Ali M. Buhedma, with whom he reviewed all aspects related with IOFS-ICIC Partnership in Afghanistan.
It should be mentioned here that the Director General is to visit DIHAD Headquarters tomorrow, 17 May 2022, for a more detailed bilateral meeting with its Chairman, Dr. Abdul Salam Al Madani.
