The IOFS and the ACCI Agree on Cooperation on Implementing the Afghanistan Food Security Program

On 17 February 2022, a virtual meeting was held between the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI), represented by Mr. Mohammad Yunas Mohmand, First Vice Chairman, Mr. Mirwais Hotak, Acting Chief Executive Officer, and Mr. Omid Ghafoorzai, International Relations Director. The IOFS was represented by Mr. Daulet Yemberdiyev, Director of Cooperation and Protocol, Mr. Abdula Manafi Mutualo, Senior Liaison Officer, and Mr. Dastan Zholdassov, Program Manager.
 
The two parties agreed on cooperation in implementing the Afghanistan Food Security Program (AFSP). The IOFS presented the current AFSP projects including the planned supply of wheat flour, the partnership with the International Committee of Islamic Crescent for Afghanistan emergency food support, and cereals cultivation and flour production project. The ACCI assured of the full support through their national networks and necessary contacts at the relevant ministries and private sector. The ACCI also intends to get in touch with the local potential donors for the financial support of the AFSP.
