On December 22, 2021, the Director General of the IOFS H.E. Yerlan A. Baidaulet met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E.Mr.Abdulaziz Abdullah AL-DAUD. The two sides exchanged views on further enhancing relationships and bilateral cooperation aimed at supporting intra-OIC food security systems.

Ambassador in his remarks lauded the contributions of the IOFS, particularly its Director General, H.E. Yerlan Baidaulet on the implementation of humanitarian, social, and economic strategic initiatives with essential impacts on national and regional food systems. H.E.Mr.Abdulaziz Abdullah AL-DAUD assured of the Saudi government’s support of IOFS and conveyed his appreciation for the participation in the 17th Extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers on Assistance to Afghanistan is being held in Islamabad.

Furthermore, the Director General of IOFS presented the existing 16 programs under 5 pillars and mentioned about the latest updates, such as the 10-year strategy of IOFS, as well as plans for the coming 2022.

Parties expressed their mutual interest in closer cooperation to enable cohesive work to respond to sustainable food security goals in OIC countries.
