On October 1, 2021, H.E. Director-General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet met with H.E. Mr. Yerbol Karashukeyev Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The outcomes of the 4th IOFS General Assembly (Nur-Sultan, September 8-9, 2021) as well as a joint plan of activities for the period of Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the IOFS and implementation progress of its strategic program have been reviewed.

During the mutual discussion, both parties underlined the high importance of activating IOFS's Humanitarian Flour Program, particularly towards support of Afghanistan. The National Gene Bank development and the OIC Food Security Reserves program were also discussed, as well as the next steps in their implementation.

Finally, the parties agreed that regular meetings between the IOFS Secretariat and the hosting country’s government represented by the Ministry of Agriculture would be necessary to strengthen further institutional capacity,  coordinate effectively joint efforts and monitor closely the implementation of the General Assembly resolutions and launch the 10-years Strategy IOFS Vision 2031 for the benefits of all member countries.
