On 31 August 2021, the Islamic Organization of Food Security (IOFS) hosted an online meeting with the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), which was represented by Dr Osman Mahgoub Ahmed El Fiel, Advisor to BADEA Director-General. The IOFS Team was composed by Mr. Abdula Manafi Mutualo, Senior Liaison Officer, Ms. Makpal Bulatova, Programme Manager, and Mr. Ruslan Bekturganov, Programme Manager.

The meeting served to review the already existing cooperation between the two Institutions while assessing the areas that need to be improved for result-oriented achievements in the near future for the benefit of common Member States in the Sub-Saharan African Region.

In such context, the two Institutions agreed that a Memorandum of Understanding is to be signed to pave the way for the implementation of joint projects in the field of agriculture, food security, and water with a focus on development.
