The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) participated in the International Conference on Best Practices for Building Sustainable Food Systems in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) region, organised via video conference by the Islamic Organisation for Food Security in co-operation with the OIC.
The ministry was represented by the Director of Food Security Department Dr Masoud Jarallah al-Marri, who presented a working paper in which he discussed the experience of Qatar as a pioneering experience in the field of food security and reviewed the national strategy for food security and the efforts made to reach sustainable food systems.
The conference came under the umbrella of the Food Systems Summit Dialogues, which is one of the activities of the regional dialogues on sustainable food systems in preparation for the UN Food Systems Summit, which will be held in September 2021.
