On June 2, 2021, H.E. Director-General of IOFS Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet held a meeting with the H.E. Rector of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University Mr. Tlektes Yespolov at IOFS headquarters.
After a brief tour around the premises, Director-General presented an overview of IOFS activities and strategic initiatives.
On his side, Mr. Yespolov outlined the University's operations, the primary emphasis of which is the growth of Kazakhstan's agrarian scientific activity and International cooperation with Wageningen Agriculture University in the Netherlands among others.
It is worth noting that the cooperation of IOFS with the University began within the Action Plan on the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between IOFS and NASEC signed on 18 May 2021.
As part of the implementation of the Action Plan, on 27 May 2021, IOFS representatives were on an official visit to the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, where the delegation exposed to the current areas of activity of the University and its institutes, as well as visits to the innovation centres and laboratories, including the International Research Center «Water Hub».
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further develop cooperation within the framework of joint programs, including the Program for the Development of Plant and Animal Genetic Resources, Water Management and Transboundary Pest Control (Locust).
