On April 19, the professionals of IOFS headed by Dr. Ismail Abdelhamid - Director of Programs and Projects and Program manager Ruslan Bekturganov had an online meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) Mr. Zohrab Gadirov - Director of Investment promotion department and Project manager Parviz Hasanov.

Meeting started with a brief presentation of IOFS works on promotion investment into food and agriculture sector thru its program “National food sectors development in cooperation with state investment agencies”, which aspires to facilitate cross-border investment between the OIC member countries. Investing in agribusiness will increase food production, reduce food waste, and increase incomes, and thus improve food security.

Mr. Zohrab Gadirov noted that AZPROMO is ready to explore opportunities of cooperation with IOFS in order to attract investments in the food sector of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to draft a joint MoU and Action plan for the investment projects implementation and strengthen the cooperation between IOFS and AZPROMO.

For reference: AZPROMO is a joint public-private initiative, established by the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan in 2003 with the aim to contribute to economic development through attracting foreign investments and stimulating exports in the non-oil sector.
