On March 29, the IOFS Secretariat had an online meeting with representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) to discuss potential areas of collaboration. The IOFS shared the history of the development of its institution and elaborated upon the current programs under implementation, namely on the International Islamic Food Processing Association, Food Security Reserves and the investment promotion activities.

The officials from the Department of the agro-industrial policy of the EEC also briefed on the importance of issues of food security and sustainable agricultural development on the EEC’s Agenda and presented its readiness to deepen the partnership with the IOFS.

The parties agreed to strengthen the cooperation between IOFS and EEC, particularly on the working level, as well as facilitate the final consolidation of signing the Memorandum of Understanding between two organizations.
