IOFS visits the National Agrarian Science and Education Center to discuss areas for cooperation

On March 19, the IOFS team visited the National Agrarian Science and Education Center to discuss areas for cooperation.

The meeting was attended Chairman of the Board Gulmira Issayeva, Head of the Department of Science Yerkin Satenbayev, General Manager of the Knowledge Dissemination Sector Marat Jadaev, Manager of the Department of International Cooperation and Investment Activities Danagul Satova, and CEO of Analytical Center for Economic Policy in the Agro-Industrial Complex LLP Nurlan Mukhamedzhanov.

A presentation was made by Dr. Ismail about the activities of the IOFS. On her side, Ms. Issayeva presented the activities of NASEC. At the moment NASEC unites 38 research institutes, and the main focus of their activities are aimed at developing agricultural scientific activities. Being the main partner for cooperation in the creation of the Genetic Bank in Kazakhstan, it proposed to cooperate with all divisions, in particular with the Kazakh Research Institute of Agriculture and Crop Production LLP, as well as with accompanying organizations.

General Director G. Issayeva noted the importance of cooperation with the IOFS and promised to draw up plans for joint activities in accordance with the IOFS programs and send them for consideration for further implementation. The sides agreed to create an action plan for 2021-2022.

Ms. Issayeva invited to take part in a seminar on organic matter organized by KazNaU for representatives of the Parliament, and make a presentation on it, as well as to visit the Water Hub at KazNAU in Almaty. IOFS and NASEC also discussed the possibility of organizing a joint business trip to 10 divisions of NASEC to familiarize themselves with their activities and consider cooperation within the framework of the IOFS programs.

The parties stressed the timeliness of the meeting and the importance of joint efforts to develop agricultural science.
