IOFS Program Manager meets with First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Tajikistan

On January 12, 2021, Program Manager Dr. Shakhlo Atabayeva met with the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan H. E. Karimzoda Sadi Gafor during the working visit to Tajikistan. At the meeting, Dr. Atabayeva provided all the necessary information about the programs and goals of the IOFS, its strategic vision and upcoming events for 2021.

Several strategic programs were reviewed during the discussion, such as the experience exchange on development of rice and wheat, Transboundary Pest Control Management, Development of National Gene Banks, National Food Sectors Development in Cooperation with State Investment Agencies, Food Safety and Halal Food Development, Food Balance Database; and food humanitarian programs. The International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) was showcased as a G2B platform that will pave the way for strengthening, promoting and expanding trade ties in the IOFS / OIC member countries.

For his part, Mr. Karimzoda expressed his readiness to actively cooperate with the IOFS on programs and stressed the timeliness and importance of the initiative.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the framework of the implementation of programs in the field of science, technology and innovation.
