On December 29, Director-General of IOFS H.E. Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri, Director of the Food Security Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment of the State of Qatar.
Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet started the virtual meeting with welcoming H.E. Mr. Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri, and emphasizing the importance of the State of Qatar as a valuable full-fledged Member State, and sending New Year warm wishes from IOFS. Thereafter, during the meeting the Director-General briefed generally about the establishment of IOFS, its structure, and all strategic programs.
Several strategic programs were focused during the discussion (Development of National Gene Banks, National Food Sectors Development in cooperation with state investment agencies, Food Safety and Halal Food Development, IOFS Food Balance Database, Food Humanitarian Programmes (Flour for Humanity, Qurbani Meat)) where H.E. Mr. Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri expressed the State of Qatar’s willingness to cooperate actively with IOFS regarding the technical implementation.
In the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to continue bilateral consultations and decide on further actions upon clearance of the COVID-19 situation.
