On December 26, 2020, the Director General of the IOFS Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet held a working meeting with the Vice-Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, member of the Executive Board of the IOFS Mr. Nurbek S. Dairbekov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the results of the 3rd General Assembly of the IOFS, held online on December 2-3, 2020 in Ankara (Republic of Turkey). Mr. Nurbek S. Dairbekov noted the very high level of organization of this meeting, and also emphasized the importance and relevance of the adopted joint resolutions in helping to solve the problems facing the agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The 16 IOFS strategic programs approved by the General Assembly are aimed at expanding trade and economic ties and enhancing investment cooperation, increasing agro-technological, scientific and innovative potential, as well as implementing humanitarian programs in all OIC countries.
In turn, Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet announced the imminent launch of the International Islamic Food Processing Association, which will become a B2B platform for enterprises of the IOFS / OIC member countries and will serve to strengthen the food supply chain, strengthen mutual trade within the OIC and increase investment potential participants. In this regard, the parties agreed to intensify cooperation in the G2B format and support by the government of all efforts to develop the private sector through technical support and attracting external investments.
During the conversation, the parties discussed organizational issues holding in 2021 the 4th meeting of the General Assembly of the IOFS in Nur-Sultan (Republic of Kazakhstan), as well as topical issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation of the Republic of Kazakhstan with member countries
IOFS and OIC, as well as enhancing interaction between the IOFS Secretariat and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
