On 23 November 2020 Director-General of Islamic Organization of Food Security (IOFS) Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet met with the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Saparkhan Omarov.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the participation of the Minister at the 3rd General Assembly of IOFS, as well as Vice Minister at the preparatory meeting of Senior Officials, which both will take place on 2-3 December 2020 online in Ankara.
During the discussion, the Minister of Agriculture was informed about 16 strategic initiatives of the IOFS focusing on strengthening food security by improving trade and economic relations among the OIC/IOFS member countries, building agrotechnological and scientific capacity, as well as humanitarian programs aimed at promoting agricultural production, including in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the end of the meeting, the sides stressed the relevance of the issues raised, and also expressed their readiness for further in-depth cooperation towards the 4th General Assembly to be held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan in 2021.
