Meeting at the Embassy of Pakistan

On October 16, Director of the Country Office at the IOFS Secretariat Mr. Baltabay Omarov convened a meeting with the Waqas Ahmed, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan. 
During the meeting, the sides discussed topical issues of bilateral relations between IOFS and the IRP of mutual interest including issues related to the development of strategic commodities, the creation of reserves of food security, etc.

Mr. Omarov expressed gratitude to the Pakistani side for ratifying the IOFS Statute, and noted the importance of the participation of the Pakistani side in the programs and projects developed by the Secretariat, and informed the diplomat about the current activities of the Secretariat. The Deputy Head of Mission was also informed about the preparations for the meetings of the Executive Council on 28 October, and the 3rd General Assembly of the IOFS, which are planned to be held between 2-3 December, 2020, In Istanbul, Turkey. In addition, the sides discussed the topic of mandatory contributions by member countries to the budget of the IOFS.

In turn, the Pakistani diplomat expressed interest in the participation of his country in both activities and the implementation of IOFS strategic objectives and goals. The parties agreed to keep in touch and coordinate actions between the IOFS Secretariat and the Pakistani side.
