General Assembly: Delegation of Mali

Director General of Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet held a meeting with a Minister of Agriculture of Republic of Mali, Mr. Kassoum Denon within the framework of Second General Assembly held in Jeddha, Saudi Arabia.
The Director General expressed gratitude to Mr. Denon for his visit and personal participation in the session. He stressed the importance of undertaken work and necessity to strengthen collaboration between Member States of IOFS through information and experience exchange, and appointment of bodies responsible for bilateral work coordination from both sides.
His Excellency, Mr. Denon congratulated Mr. Baidaulet with his appointment as a Director General and thanked for meeting him personally. He expressed interest of Mali in collaboration and his intention to ratify the Statue of IOFS by the end of the year. Mr. Danon stated that Mali intends to become a member of IOFS by the next Session.
Mr. Denon also expressed interest in a Database platform, as Mali produces a large amount of rice and seeks potential exporters. The Minister also offered IOFS to assist in work with countries of Western Africa and help to publicize activities of IOFS in these regions.
The countries made agreements to strengthen bilateral collaboration within the framework of CILSS collaboraiton, the memorandum of which was signed on the eve of the meeting.
