On 13 January, IOFS officials held a meeting with NASEC representative Mr. Ayup Iskakov. Sides held discussions about collaborative development of a Gene Bank for safe storage of seed samples of main crops. IOFS noted that plant genetic resources are raw materials used to improve crops and seeds. Their conservation and usage are very important for global food security and safety. The parties agreed to actively cooperate in creation of the Gene Bank in the OIC countries.
