The Director General of IOFS meets with Syrian government officials on various levels

On 11 February 2023, the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet, along with the delegation of , met with the Syrian Minister of Health Hassan Al-Ghabbash and the Mayor of Aleppo Hussein Diyab. The Representatives of the Syrian government expressed their gratitude to Kazakhstan and IOFS for the delivery of cargo with humanitarian aid. Minister Hassan Al-Ghabbash thanked President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan for helping the people of Syria.

In turn, the Director General of IOFS, Yerlan Baidaulet, and the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Lebanon, Rasul Zhumaly, expressed their condolences to the Syrian side and wished for the situation in the country to be resolved as soon as possible.

The representatives of Kazakhstan were given a brief on the situation in the areas affected by the earthquake, and were also able to get acquainted with the mechanisms for coordinating and delivering humanitarian assistance on an international level.
