
On 2 February 2023, the Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security HE Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet met with H.E. Mr. Fahad Al Khalifa, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Masraf Al Rayan Bank during the IOFS delegation's visit to the State of Qatar. At this meeting, the parties discussed potential areas for cooperation and partnership. The Qatari side was also presented the flagship program for establishing the IOFS Fund, which aims to provide the necessary financial products to OIC Member States to increase their food security capacity.
Following the day program, H.E. the Director General of the IOFS, accompanied by Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al-Marri, Chairman of the Executive Board of IOFS, met with H.E. Abdulrahman Mohammed Jolo, Undersecretary on Financial Policies at the Qatar Ministry of Finance. H.E. the Director General made an overview of the Organization's strategic vision, objectives, and program activities and the two parties discussed ways to support the IOFS to achieve the strategic goals and to diversify financial resources.
The concluding meeting was with the Al Anaam Meat Factory, at their premises, where the IOFS team not only had discussions over the lamb and other meat supplies from Kazakhstan to the State of Qatar, but conducted a side visit to all the company facilities. This factory is considered the largest in Qatar and one of the modern and best equipped in the Persian Gulf for the animal feedlot and slaughtering. The Al Anaam Factory's General Manager expressed their real interest to expand businesses based on the supply of meat from Kazakhstan and agreed to make a working trip soon, to examine Kazakhstan’s meat market potential.
