Doha: Minister of Municipality H E Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie met yesterday with Director-General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), Dr. Yerlan Baidaulet, who congratulated him on the State of Qatar’s presidency of the IOFS Executive Council for the next three years.

During the meeting, Dr. Baidaulet expressed his confidence that the State of Qatar will play a distinguished role during its presidency of the council, wishing the organisation prosperity during this period.

IOFS Director-General briefed the Minister of Municipality on the IOFS programs and activities and the future strategy to enhance joint action among Islamic countries to support the food security system.

The Minister appreciated the organisation’s work and efforts during the last period, pointing to the importance of joint action to enhance food security and sustainability.

During the fifth meeting of its General Assembly on October 11 in Tunis, IOFS announced that Qatar won the presidency of the IOFS Executive Council for three years in line with the country’s outstanding efforts in the field of supporting and strengthening the food security system in Islamic countries.
