On 27 December 2022, the Director General of the IOFS H.E. Yerlan A. Baidaulet met with the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Youssef Abdul Ghani.

Director General and Ambassador emphasized the special relationship between IOFS and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, particularly acknowledging recent fruitful meetings with officials during H.E. Yerlan A. Baidaulet's visit to Jordan in August 2022. From his side, H.E. Mr. Youssef Abdul Ghani stressed Jordan's desire to join the organization in the near future.

IOFS Director General H.E. Yerlan Baidaulet elaborated on the implementation of the IOFS humanitarian projects on the Afghanistan Food Security Programme and activities under the “Year of Africa” Program. Director General also commended the ongoing efforts of the Jordanian government to help the Syrian refugees and emphasized the importance of cooperation between the IOFS and concerned institutions in Jordan on developing OIC Food Security Reserves. He also expressed a strong mutual commitment to developing further collaboration with active engagement of Jordanian experts, institutions, private sector representatives in fulfilling IOFS strategic program goals.

Parties explored facilitating Jordan's membership in IOFS through discussing membership procedures, amount of mandatory contributions, benefits, and obligations of the membership and expressed mutual hope to prompt settlement of Jordan's accession to the IOFS.
