On December 4th, IOFS Secretariat received food safety training from a national food safety expert in Kazakhstan, Mrs. Gulnara Suranchiyeva, who specializes in Strengthening International Food Safety Standards in Agricultural Value Chains in Central Asia and Regional Economic Cooperation in Member Countries. During the training, following issues have been discussed:
  1. Definition of food safety;
  2. Sources of food safety;
  3. Priority tasks for provision of food safety and development of the halal industry;
  4. Role of IOFS in food safety in Kazakhstan and OIC countries;
  5. Main goals and tasks of food safety;
  6. Discussion of the first 5 steps in the proposed Roadmap for Food Safety.
