The national pavilion of Uzbekistan was inaugurated at the Asia Islamic Tourism and Trade Expo in Selangor, Malaysia, with support from the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Surkhandarya region administration, national travel agencies, and Uzbekistan Airways. The event, organized by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents and Selangor’s state administration, featured over 150 travel agencies and halal product manufacturers from 20 countries. Uzbekistan's pavilion highlighted the country's tourism potential, focusing on pilgrimage tourism and cultural heritage in regions like Surkhandarya, Bukhara, Samarkand, Khorezm, and Tashkent. New tourist sites and initiatives, including those related to the Imam Termizi International Research Center, were presented. Travel companies such as Grand Atlas Discovery and Sherin Travel showcased their services, including pilgrimage and cultural tourism. B2B meetings aimed to boost Malaysian tourist arrivals and promote direct flights between Tashkent and Kuala Lumpur. The pavilion also displayed Uzbekistan's national crafts, dried fruits, and food products.
