The IOFS Delegation held a meeting with the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization

Amman, Jordan, 8 October 2024 - The delegation of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), led by Ambassador Khusrav Noziri, IOFS Assistant Director General, had a meeting with H.E. Dr. Hussein Mohammad Al-Shebli, Secretary General of the JORDAN HASHEMITE CHARITY ORGANISATION (JHCO) at the JHCO Headquarters in Amman. Ambassador Noziri discussed the IOFS humanitarian activities and highlighted the Afghanistan Food Security Program (AFSP) initiated in 2021. As part of its mandate from 2020 to 2022, and with the participation of Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, IOFS provided humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people. This assistance included multiple shipments of Kazakh grain and flour, as well as solar-powered water extraction and filtration systems, which were delivered to the Afghani de facto administration.

Ambassador Khusrav Noziri and Dr. Ismail AbdelHamid, Director of the Project Department, mentioned that since the beginning of this year, the IOFS has been urging Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC ) countries to raise $450,000 in order to provide food aid to the Gaza Strip. Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, and Bangladesh were the first to contribute.

Dr. Hussein Mohammad Al-Shebli stated that JHCO provides humanitarian aid to over 34 countries affected by disasters. The organization has strong partnerships with globally recognized organizations, and Dr. Al-Shebli expressed his appreciation for the cooperation with IOFS and its efforts and initiatives in this sector.
