On 2 May 2023, the IOFS Delegation, headed by the Director General H.E. Prof. Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet held a meeting with the United Nations Resident Coordinator for Kazakhstan, H. E. Ms. Michaela Friberg-Storey. The sides initiated imperative dialogue on strengthening coordination of the IOFS with various UN organizations in the realm of food security on a regional and global level. Ms. Friberg-Storey highlighted the unique platform IOFS offers to member states and supported the initiatives of the organization in enhancing and developing food systems.
The meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to further cooperation on the common objective of achieving Sustainable Development Goal 2, creating a world free of hunger by 2030.
