Astana, Kazakhstan — The Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Amb. Khusrav Noziri as the new Assistant Director General. This appointment follows the unanimous decision of the IOFS Executive Board during its 3rd Extraordinary Meeting, held on 27 August 2024.
Khusrav Noziri, a distinguished diplomat from Tajikistan, graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Languages at Tajik State University in 1991. He is fluent in Persian, Russian, English, and Arabic and holds the diplomatic rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of category II.
Mr. Noziri's career includes serving as the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Egypt, Ethiopia, Algeria, South Africa and Morocco, as well as Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the League of Arab States from 2014 to 2019, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan from 2019 to 2021, and as Secretary General of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) from 2021 until August 2024.
Upon commencing his new role at the IOFS, Mr. Noziri stated: “This new role marks a significant milestone in my career and I am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me by the IOFS. As I embark on this new journey, I look forward to working closely with our Member States and partners to advance sustainable development and food security. I am fully committed to making a meaningful impact in our collective efforts.”
