In a landmark move, on August 30, 2023 the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce has formally entered into a Membership Agreement with the International Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA) , a prominent subsidiary of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS). This significant step not only welcomes Mozambique as the 23rd member of IFPA but also paves the way for transformative advancements in the nation's agri-food sector.
Having established its headquarters in Dubai, UAE, back in May 2023, IFPA was conceived under the aegis of the IOFS with a resolute vision - to invigorate the agri-food private sector across the landscape of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC ) Member States. IFPA's core objectives encompass fostering robust growth within this sector, cultivating dynamic intra-OIC agri-food trade avenues, catalyzing investment inflow, and fortifying the food security framework within Member States.
The President of the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce, HE Mr. Álvaro Massinga,
articulated the unwavering commitment and readiness of Mozambique to synergize with the private sectors of OIC Member States through its association with IFPA. This synergistic collaboration, harnessed through the unique IFPA platform, is primed to amplify the trajectory of Mozambique's agri-food industry. By tapping into IFPA's extensive network and expertise, Mozambique seeks to harness the full potential of the OIC geography while invigorating its domestic agri-food business landscape.
This milestone agreement ushers in a new era of cooperation, propelling Mozambique onto a prominent platform for sustainable agri-food growth and harmonious intra-OIC trade dynamics.
