IOFS Kicks Off Preparation for 7th General Assembly

Astana, Kazakhstan - On May 31, 2024 the Islamic Organization for Food Security, officially commenced preparations for the 7th General Assembly set to be held in August in Astana, Kazakhstan. The Director General of IOFS, H.E. Amb. Berik Aryn led the IOFS delegation during a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E Mr. Alibek Bakayev, and representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture and Kazakhstan’s Agency of International Development (KAZAID). This strategic session provided an opportunity for all parties to discuss logistical arrangements, agenda priorities, and the overarching objectives for the General Assembly.

In addition to preparations for the General Assembly, the meeting also served as a platform to address other issues of mutual interest, including the upcoming 16th UN-OIC Coordination Meeting, to be hosted by IOFS on 22-24 July 2024 in Astana, and various bilateral and multilateral agreements, underscoring the collaborative spirit and unwavering support the hosting country provides to the Organization.
