IOFS Director General Welcomes Egyptian Ambassador to Strengthen Food Security Cooperation

Astana, Kazakhstan – 9 January 2025 – The Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS), H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn, welcomed H.E. Ambassador Ibtissam Rakha Ahmed Hassan of Egypt to the IOFS headquarters. The meeting reinforced Egypt’s critical role in advancing IOFS initiatives and strengthening food security across OIC Member States.

H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn expressed appreciation for Egypt’s active participation in IOFS programs and extended gratitude for hosting capacity-building workshops. Discussions emphasized Egypt’s contributions to addressing food security in the Sahel, promoting climate-resilient wheat and rice production, and enhancing food banking systems.

The parties highlighted ongoing collaboration in humanitarian initiatives, and agreed to build on shared expertise to foster sustainable agriculture and regional food security. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation and achieving mutual goals.
