IOFS Director General receives award from the Government of Kazakhstan

Astana, Kazakhstan – 2 July 2024 – The Secretariat of the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) is pleased to announce that H.E. Ambassador Berik Aryn , Director General of IOFS, has been honored with the Nazir Turekulov Medal "For contribution to the development of foreign policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan."

This prestigious award, recognizing outstanding contributions to Kazakhstan's foreign policy, is named after Nazir Turekulov, an esteemed Kazakh statesman and diplomat who served as General Consul and Plenipotentiary Representative (Ambassador) of the Soviet Union to Saudi Arabia from 1928 to 1935. The award was presented by H.E. Murat Nurtleu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the occasion of the Day of Diplomatic Service in Kazakhstan, celebrated annually on July 2.

Ambassador Aryn, a prominent Kazakh diplomat, has played a significant role in advancing Kazakhstan's foreign relations and enhancing its diplomatic service. Since 1994, he has served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, holding positions as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Permanent Representative to League of Arab States, African Union, Organization of Islamic Cooperation ( OIC ) and other international institutions.  

In April 2024, Ambassador Berik Aryn was elected Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, where he continues to make significant contributions to international cooperation and food security initiatives.
