A high-level delegation comprising experts from Benin has embarked on a study visit to the Agriculture Research Institute, Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation of the Arab Republic of Egypt from August 26 to 28, 2024. This visit is part of a broader initiative aimed at enhancing the production and use of organic fertilizers in Africa through Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) practices.
Over three days, the delegation will engage in an intensive program designed to provide insights into Egypt’s advanced practices in managing agricultural and industrial waste for the production of organic fertilizers. The program includes visits to key research facilities, including the Central Laboratory for Organic Agriculture, and practical sessions at various production sites in Beheira and Sharqia regions.
Key Highlights of the Visit:
- Day 1: The delegation attended sessions at the Land Water and Environment Research Institute, focusing on organic fertilizers and biogas production. They also toured the Central Laboratory for Organic Agriculture.
- Day 2: Participants visited a factory for organic fertilizer production in Belbeis and another for biofertilizer preparation at the Agricultural Research Center.
- Day 3: The delegation will visit the Agricultural Research Station in Nubariya, Beheira Region, to observe CSA practices in field applications
