IOFS Delegation Holds Strategic Meetings with High-level Officials in Niger

During the working visit to Niger, the Director General of IOFS, H.E. Prof. Yerlan Baidaulet met with H.E. Mr. Ali Bety, Minister, High Commissioner for the 3N Initiative, Nigeriens Nourishing Nigeriens. 

H.E. Mr. Bety gave an overview of the progress of the 3N program, which the Commissariat ensures through the realization of key components. H.E. Director General of IOFS, Prof. Baidaulet expressed the readiness of the organization to provide facilities for the implementation of the project, particularly in terms of capacity building and expertise. Both sides expressed a joint willingness to strengthen cooperation. 

The IOFS delegation continued the working visit with a meeting with Niger's Agency for the Promotion of Exports (ANIPEX), which encompassed a signing ceremony with the subsidiary of IOFS, the Inernational Islamic Food Processing Association (IFPA).  As a result,  ANIPEX became the 50th company as a n Honorary Member of the International IFPA. This increases the general number of IFPA Member States up to 29.

The first Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Niger and President of ANIPEX, Mr. Boureima Wonkoye, expressed his satisfaction after the signing of the agreement, which will allow Niger to integrate more intensively into the geography of the OIC, and increase the strengths of the partnership through trade and the exchange of agricultural and agro-food products.

 

In addition, another productive meeting took place between H.E. Director General and H.E. Allahoury Ammadou Diallo, Special Advisor for Agriculture and Livestock, to President Bazoum of the Republic of Niger.  During the meeting H.E. Director General of IOFS, Prof. Baidaulet provided a brief overview of the activities and various programs IOFS implements in Member States. He also highlighted his briefing on the livestock ecosystem, which presents an opportunity to assist Niger in developing its livestock sector, which holds a large potential for growth and development, particularly through the processing of products of animal origin.

The Adviser to the President, H.E. Allahoury Ammadou Diallo , on his behalf, emphasized the various components of the program of his unit, noting that the strategic axes of IOFS, match perfectly with Niger's strategy in terms of food security and agricultural development. The two representatives agreed to continue their consultations in order to implement a joint action plan.
