On August 11, the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazkahstan, Aydarbek Sapароv, held negotiations with Turkish businessmen interested in implementing projects in Kazakhstan related to grain and legume processing, cattle hide processing, ice cream production, and the localization of agricultural machinery manufacturing. The discussions included opportunities for deep processing of leguminous crops, such as amino acids and gluten, which are in high demand in the market. Turkish ice cream companies expressed interest in Kazakhstani milk, emphasizing the need for high quality and lactose content, and learned about the milk-producing farm development program in Kazakhstan, which plans to build 65 modern farms to provide the necessary raw materials. The issue of hide processing was also discussed: only 17% of the 3.5 million hides are processed in Kazakhstan, and there are plans for a gelatin production project. Sapаров noted that Kazakhstan has created favorable conditions for investors, including investment cost reimbursement and tax incentives. Turkish businessmen highlighted the need for subsidizing logistics to expand product exports. The Kazakhstani delegation included representatives from business associations and meat and dairy producers, and it was noted that restrictions on foot-and-mouth disease, nodular dermatitis, and avian influenza were lifted in June 2024, easing product import into Turkey. As a result of the negotiations, the parties exchanged contacts and plan to develop a Roadmap for attracting investors to Kazakhstan.
