IOFS MEETINGS WITHIN THE THIRD DAY OF VISIT TO MOROCCO

On March 10, 2022 the Director General of IOFS H.E. Mr. Yerlan A. Baidaulet had several important meetings in the Kingdom of Morocco.

The Director General started his meetings by one with the Secretary General of Arab Maghreb Union (AMU), Dr. Taieb Baccouche. AMU is an organization consisting of the 5 North Africa member states (Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Mauritania) that make up the countries of the North African Continent and aimed to promote common policies on trade, defense and foreign relations.

The IOFS Director General gave an overview of IOFS foundation as the OIC specialized institution, IOFS Strategic Framework and IOFS Strategy 2031. Particular attention was given to the IOFS humanitarian programs and Afghanistan Food Security Programme, “2022 IOFS Year of Africa” project, sides discussed the possible areas of cooperation in these activities.

Following the day program, the Director General conducted a very productive meeting with  Director-General of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Dr. Salem bin Muhammad Al-Malik. Parties discussed prospects for cooperation between the two organizations in a number of areas of common interest and affirmed their keenness to build fruitful cooperation, especially in the field of technology and innovation, which aims to increase productivity and improve the genetic characteristics of plants and animals, to contribute to achieving food self-sufficiency in the countries of the Islamic world.



Also, the two sides agreed to continue coordination between the two organizations, and to hold meetings at the level of experts to agree on practical programs of cooperation based on results and outputs that serve the intra-OIC states.

Subsequently, the meeting of the IOFS delegation was conducted with  President of the Federation of Moroccan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services (FCMCIS) H.E.Mr. Houcine Alayoua.
After giving a short presentation on the missions, mandates and programs of the IOFS, the two sides discussed possible ways and prospects for developing partnership relations through the private sector, in this regard, IOFS Director General proposed expanding the capacity of the FCMCIS towards greater openness to foreign investment and thus inviting all its members to by establishing a partnership with IFPA.
