On February 16, 2022 in a bid to strengthen cooperation with Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QCCI) as part of the participatory and negotiation approach that the IOFS pursues, H.E. Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet, the Director General of IOFS continued to hold a series of bilateral meetings with QCCI Board member and head of Food Security Committee, HE Mr. Mohamed Al Obaidly on the sidelines of IOFS Strategic Commodities and Food Safety Forum.
Parties expressed mutual commitment to develop a partnership and welcomed satisfaction towards this new impetus given to partnership to expand cooperation between businesses and ensuring recognition of Halal food standards to facilitate Intra-OIC trade, as indicated in the Qatar National Food Security Strategy.
In addition ahead of the departure H.E. Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet continued his bilateral meetings with Board Member and Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), HE Mr. Yousuf Mohamed Al-Jaida.
The meeting provided an exchange of knowledge and opportunity for joint reflection in the IOFS’s areas of competences, also offered a platform for exploring cooperation and the challenges IOFS facing in the advancement of Afghanistan Food Security Program (AFSP) and IOFS 2022 Year of Africa, two big projects comprehensively consolidating all programmes of IOFS.
