On October 15, 2019, Director General of the Islamic Organization for Food Security, Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet held a meeting with Ambassador of Republic of Iraq to Kazakhstan, Mr. Younis Sarhan.
During the meeting, Director General presented the activities and prospects of development of IOFS to the Ambassador, and discussed the results and decisions of the Second General Assembly held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on 27-29 August.
Mr. Younis Sarhan reassured that Republic of Iraq attaches great importance to food security issues and pays close attention to the need to increase agricultural trade between Islamic countries.
Director General also spoke about the role IOFS plays in development of halal industry in Kazakhstan and shared experience of controlling certification procedures of halal food.
Mr. Younis Sarhan noted the importance of strategic mission of IOFS and assured that Republic of Iraq, being a member of OIC would play a significant role in issues of food security and implementation of national programs.
