The IOFS and AIDA Exchange Views on Bilateral Cooperation

The IOFS and AIDA Exchange Views on Bilateral Cooperation
30 September 2021

On 30 September 2021, a technical virtual meeting was held between the Islamic Organization for Food Security (IOFS) and the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) to exchange views on ways and means to develop their bilateral cooperation. Both Institutions were represented, respectively, by Mr. Elmaddin Mehdiyev, AIDA Director, and Mr. Abdula Manafi Mutualo, IOFS Senior Liaison Officer, along with Mr. Azamat Kamiyev, IOFS Program Manager.

The humanitarian food assistance to OIC Member States in need was among the potential areas of cooperation that the sides discussed, as since its inception in 2011, AIDA has been providing assistance to eliminate the consequences of natural and man-made disasters around the world and to restore the living conditions of the disaster-affected people.

Additionally, and taking into account that 2022 is “IOFS Year of Africa”, the two sides agreed, in principle, that once formalized, their bilateral efforts are to give priority to OIC Member States in Sub-Saharan Africa.

It should be mentioned that IOFS and AIDA intend to continue consultations remotely and/or in-person towards consolidating their bilateral cooperation.
