Director-General of IOFS meets the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Kazakhstan

On September 29, 2021, H.E. Director-General of IOFS Mr. Yerlan Baidaulet met with H. E. Tareq A. Alfaraj, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to the Republic of Kazakhstan at the Embassy of Kuwait.

The Director-General of IOFS presented an introduction about outcomes of the third General Assembly as of December 2020 and the fourth General Assembly held in Nur-Sultan on September 8-9, 2021, besides the active implementation of strategic programs.  In addition, the Director-General emphasized the importance of the State of Kuwait as a valuable full-fledged Member State and the effective role the State of Kuwait plays in the IOFS strategy.

H. E. Tareq A. Alfaraj thanked the IOFS Director-General for providing such important information and fully supported all IOFS strategic programs. In the meeting several programs and projects were discussed (OIC Food Security Reserves, National Food Sectors Development in cooperation with state investment agencies, IOFS Food Balance Database, Food Humanitarian programs (Flour for Humanity, Qurbani Meat)) where H. E. Kuwaiti Ambassador expressed the State of Kuwait’s willingness to cooperate actively with IOFS towards technical implementation of the indicated programs and pointed out the role of hosting country for further development of the Organization within OIC region.
