Saudi company «Almarai» discusses cooperation opportunities with Kazakhstan

On September 3, 2019 Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Saudi Arabia Mr. Berik Aryn held a meeting with Mr. George Sсhorderet, CEO of a major Saudi company «Almarai». During the meeting, sides discussed establishment of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the company through collaborative enterprises in food, dairy and poultry production.
The Ambassador spoke about the agricultural industry of Kazakhstan in detail and the measures taken by the government to develop it. He also informed about investment legislation, preferences and priviliges provided by the government for foreign investorsand forwarded a number of investment agricultural projects to the company.
Mr. Aryn also spoke about activities of IOFS, the establishment of which was initiated by First President, Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev and about collaboration opportunities that the organization offers.
Mr. Schorderet expressed his interest in agricultural industry of Kazakhstan and the investment opportunities. He expressed willingness to examine possible ways to establish mutual cooperation with Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting, parties reached an agreement on delegation visit of the company to Kazakhstan to participate in the 1st meeting of Kazakh-Saudi Business Council scheduled for autumn of 2019 in Nur-Sultan city.
Founded in 1977, «Almarai» is the largest food and beverages manufacturer and distributor in the Middle East. «Almarai» produces a wide range of products ranging from dairy, juice, bread and poultry to baby food. The company owns irrigated farms and processing plants in USA, Argentina, Egypt and Jordan.
