he delegation of the Islamic Organization for Food Security headed by Prof. Dr. Zulfiqar Ali , the Director of Programs and Projects Department visited the National Centet of Biotechnology of Kazakhstan (NCB) to meet with Dr. Aisha Iskakova, the Acting Director of NCB, as well as Prof. Dr. Vyacheslav Ogai, Managing Director on Science, as well as other scientists to deliberate on established cooperation and further joint activities that are planned to be held in the domain of agricultural biotechnology.
The IOFS intends to organize the 2nd Youth Biotechnology Forum on "Biotechnology for Food Security and Climate Resilience" in Astana, Kazakhstan in July 2023 in collaboration with the NCB Kazakhstan,
COMSTECH - OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation and the Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum (ICYF) in which future food security experts, agripreneurs, farmers, businessmen, IT specialists, and agricultural students will participate. The interest of young people in this sector of the economy in the long term will help promote rural development and enhance the national and regional food systems. The NCB extended its full support to IOFS to ensure success of the event.

IOFS graciously facilitated the participation of two eminent scientists of the NCB to attend the aforementioned forum in 2022 which was held in Islamabad,
Pakistan.
