The delegation of the Islamic Organization for Food Security arrived to Dubai, UAE on 13 March to participate in the 19th Edition of DIHAD Conference and Exhibition 2023, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. IOFS Representatives also attended the Opening Ceremony of the Humanitarian Conference, which was opened by Her Excellency Dr. Maitha bint Salem Al Shamsi, Minister of State of the UAE Government. To note, His Excellency , Director General of the IOFS , Prof. Yerlan Alimzhanuly Baidaulet will be delivering a keynote address on the Sustainability of the Afghanistan Food Security Programme on the 14th of March.

The DIHAD Conference and Exhibition gathered representatives from national government authorities, international and non-governmental organisations, the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement, foundations and charities, academic institutions, the media and the private sector from around the world.

The IOFS had the honor to welcome the participants of DIHAD 2023 to its own exhibition booth, which displayed the various programs and initiatives of the organization. The booth garnered interest from various visitors and participants. Representatives from UN organizations, NGO’s from Africa and MENA, as well as private institutions from OIC Member States expressed their interest in collaboration with the IOFS. All participants noted the importance and acute demand of the work the IOFS covers in ensuring food security.

During the three-day Conference, which will be held from 13-15 March, the DIHAD platform will focus and outline essential facts and figures around this year’s theme of: Energy and Aid.
