IOFS supports and congratulates the African Union on the Day for Food Nutrition Security! The AU declared 2022 as the Year of Nutrition under the theme “Strengthening Resilience in Nutrition and Food Security on the African Continent: Strengthening Agro-Food Systems, Health and Social Protection Systems for the Acceleration of Human, Social and Economic Capital Development.”
The IOFS has also announced 2022 as the Year of Africa. We have been working with African governments and relevant actors/development partners in the African agricultural landscape towards:
a) Raising awareness on the bleak reality on all matters related with food security
b) Implementing suitable initiatives in the field of food security and agricultural transformation
c) Gathering required resources to catalyse and sustain implementation of programmes under the IOFS Framework Strategy and IOFS 2031 Strategic Vision.
d) Expanding contacts and sharing experience among citizens, institutions of science, culture, education, business entities and structures.
e) Furthering capacity-building of government officials, representatives of science/research entities and other stakeholders in the domain of food security and agriculture.
IOFS is dedicated to consolidate all efforts of member countries and partner institutions towards achieving these common goals!
