As President noted, such dialogue provides an excellent opportunity to discuss priorities of external and internal affairs of Kazakhstan.
- We are gradually implementing a balanced political modernization. Our priorities are based on standards of leading countries of Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the government undertakes bold actions to achieve that goal. The foundation of the governmental system of Kazakhstan is the following formula: “A strong President – influential Parliament – accountable Government”.
Tokayev spoke about realization of a “listening” government concept, activities of National Council of Social Trust.
- We are working towards making the Government respond to the needs of its citizens more effectively. As a head of the state, I am committed to development of political parties to support and promote pluralism in our society. Which is why we are reconsidering laws that regulate organization of peaceful demonstrations. We are actively working to strengthen the role of civilian institutions to improve accountability of government organs.

Speaking of reforms in law-enforcement and judicial system, Tokayev said that prosperity of the government depends on the level of civilian trust towards these institutions.
- We are aware that political stability and effectiveness of the government apparatus are inseparable from economic development. There are a number of achievements in this domain. GDP of Kazakhstan grew by 4,4% during 10 months of 2019. Kazakhstan is 25th in Doing Business-2020 ratings, 50th - in Global Index of Competitiveness. Within the next five years, we are planning to improve our positions in international ratings substantially.
The president emphasized that Kazakhstan is open for international collaboration and will continue its policy of constructive and balanced interaction with strategic partners and interested countries. Global inter-faith harmony, opposition to intolerance and radicalism remain at the heart of foreign policies of Kazakhstan.
- We will promote and support constructive initiatives focused on ensuring regional and global stability. That means strengthening Asian and Eurasian safety, dismantlement of terrorist and nuclear threats.
According to Tokayev, priority vectors of foreign policies of Kazakhstan are relationships with Russia, China, USA, states of EU and Central Asia. It was also noted that Kazakhstan would continue its active work on development of multilateral collaboration within the context of international organizations and financial institutions.
